This is a very different Easter for our small charity and a very changed one for many Inverclyde children and families during these difficult days. This weekend we would normally have been hosting our annual family fundraising Easter fete- a day where children and parents come together and bring families and friends to participate in all the things we enjoy best about the holidays and springtime. A time to come together. We cannot do that physically at this time, but we will have other happy events when the Coronavirus crisis is over and the time is safe to do so. Restart and renewal will come. For now- our Therapists, Counsellors, and Family Workers are working hard every day as we continue to deliver our services online via Whereby and Zoom, and via telephone support to young people, parents, carers, teachers, all who work with children, and the families who need it most. The rise in the calls to our service over the past weeks have been hugely significant, as we sadly respond to bereaved parents and carers who have lost a family member; anxious and troubled young people; young parents, and children who are struggling with the massive changes to everyday life and routine. We work together as a team and with our network partners in lockdown to support our NHS and frontline services. It is a changed time indeed, but we are still here- to serve our children and families Inverclyde, and to provide therapeutic support ❤
