FILIAL THERAPY / PLAY THERAPY

Delivered by clinically trained and qualified therapists – Play Therapy and Filial Therapy (parent/carer/child together) training for parents/carers/foster carers/adoptive parents/kinship carers   What are the mental health and wellbeing issues for Inverclyde’s children?   What are the challenges for parents and carers and how do we respond to them therapeutically?   What are the difficulties affecting the dynamic and everyday lives of the family?   How do we work with and support children and young people therapeutically to promote strong, confident and healthy individuals?   This workshop will help parents and carers to establish healthier and stronger attachments with their children via this interactive workshop providing a space for parents to discuss the issues that are at the forefront of everyday family life; learn new skills via Filial Therapy techniques; play therapy interventions; theory and latest research information; and via demonstrations by qualified therapists, children’s counsellors and child and family workers.
